These are the standards you can expect from Youth Focus North West when we collect, hold or use your personal information when you use our For Planet app and website.
We do this in line with data protection law, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act (DPA) 2018.
Youth Focus North West are the data controller. We are the main decision-makers and exercise overall control over the purposes and means of the processing of personal data. 3 Sided Cube (iOS & Android app) and Science and Engineering Applications Ltd (website) are the data processors They act on behalf of, and only on the instructions of, the data controller.
iOS and Android app
The For Planet app will not ask for your personal data, however we will be using Google Analytics to track user data anonymously to improve service delivery.
Therefore we promise:
- all user information will be anonymous
- to only ask for what we need, and not to collect too much or irrelevant information
- only share the an anonymous tracking data with For planet partners (Environment Agency, Science and Engineering Applications Ltd, Lancashire County Council, The Challenge Academy Trust, Ribble River Trust, and The Wildlife Trust for Lancashire, Manchester and North Merseyside).
- to protect it and make sure nobody has access to it who shouldn’t
- to make sure we don’t keep it longer than necessary

Website Personal Information
The For Planet website has a email link within the Get Involved page. This feature facilitates the capture of personal information such as your email address. Through the use of this feature you may also provide additional personal information that would aid us in getting more involved with For Planet. Personal information is not captured unless expressly provided by the user.

This not only helps us to provide you with a better experience and improve our website, but also provides us with information about your experience and interests. We are lawfully allowed to process your anonymous data. We are not processing or storing personal data.
Why we process your data
We process your data to:
- Personalising and tailoring our services to you.
- Analysing your use of our Site and application to gather feedback enabling us to continually improve our For Planet service and your user experience.
How long we retain data
Your anonymised data is kept for the duration of the contract between Youth Focus North West, Environment Agency, 3 Sided Cube, Science and Engineering Applications Ltd and partners.
Any data you send is at your own risk
Sending information over the internet is generally not completely secure, and we can’t guarantee the security of your data while it’s in transit.
Your rights
You have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to access your data and the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
You have the right to withdraw consent. You can contact us to do this.
Due to data protection regulations this service is aimed at adults. If you are a young person and would like to be involved, speak to a parent or guardian to share your thoughts on the information in the interaction.
